I have to say that I am so thankful to step into the lifestyle newborn sessions community! What started out as just a simple request to photograph some of my friend’s cute babies last year turned into a new passion that I am thoroughly enjoying and reveling in. Though a bit more technically difficult because of that whole indoor lighting thing, I’ve managed to push myself to work through it by remembering that those precious moments being captured are more important than a perfect technical image. And that is truly what I love so much about these lifestyle newborn sessions. They are candid. They are precious. And they are real. Bringing a baby into this world is not small feat! It is such an honor to be able to photograph those tender moments between parents and their children. I also am enamored by all of the beautiful nurseries that these parents are creating for their little ones. I love the personal details that each has showing off both the style and personalities of each set of parents. It is also quite something to stand in the room that you know this little one will grow up in. Where midnight feedings will occur and countless diapers will be changed. Where their cute little outfits for the day will be picked out and where bedtime stories will be read. And in that hour or two that I am there, I want to slow down time enough to capture those precious first moments where all is new and exciting and hearts are fuller than they ever thought they could be.
Sydney and Chris were such parents and the little details of baby Zoey’s nursery were so very precious and creative! (Those clouds though!?) Zoey did a fantastic job and managed to sleep through half of our session and remained awake for the other half giving us some beautiful and diverse photos! The love that Chris and Sydney share for both one another and now Zoey beamed through their eyes and smiles and it was such a pleasure to enter into their lives for but a few hours. Welcome to the world, little one!
