At 4:30 pm on July 1st, Courtney and I headed to the hospital for an impromptu appointment.  Courtney had been having some back pain and leaking fluid for most of the day, and after consulting with our doula, Doris Ann, she suggested we head up to labor and deliver at Womack Army Medical Center just to make sure everything was okay.  It was then that our birth adventure began. I’m SO excited to finally be able to reveal our baby boy’s sweet adventure themed nursery! We have been working on this little project ever since moving to North Carolina and we finally completed it about a month ago.  I am 38 weeks pregnant today with our little squirmer and we are anxiously awaiting his arrival which literally could be any day now, eek! We cannot wait to meet him and show him his own very special room that we’ve worked so long and hard on.  This nursery truly was so much fun to do together and really became an escape for us.  We left a piece of our heart in Washington and this room turned into our way of trying to bring that piece here.  Because of such, many parts of our “Adventure/Washington” themed room hold a lot of sentimental value, and if you want to find out which pieces do and why then keep reading on! Charleigh Lane, you are so loved.  I truly find such joy in capturing these sweet moments of parenthood- especially first timers.  Sweet Charleigh came into this world just a day before my husband’s birthday on February 24th weighing in at a whopping 9 lbs. 1 oz., and was immediately the ultimate delight of her adoring parents. I met Charleigh and her sweet family just a few weeks after she was born and instantly knew we would all become good friends! View full post »

Welcome to my first lifestyle nursery session in North Carolina! Actually, it was my first ever “session” in North Carolina even though it may have been a little impromptu. Those of you who follow along the blog at all know that the Baker’s faces are not new to it! We’ve had several fun sessions together including an anniversary session, maternity, lifestyle, and I even used Bre for a stylized Bridal session. They were my go to people out in WA for some good practice and fun memory making 🙂

Needless to say it was no easy task leaving them behind as we made our way across the country, but thank goodness we live in a day and age where we can travel! Bre and Nora blessed us with a visit for a week to help us start setting up our own nursery.  While we were at it, we of course had to snag some photos of baby Nora.  And it just so happened that she turned 5 months while staying with us and really learned how to sit up! What perfect memories to capture. View full post »

Will and Eleni’s wedding was definitely one for the records.  Not only because it was truly a stunning wedding in every way, but because there were so many firsts for me which made my time photographing both fun and memorable.  For instance, this was my first wedding that I’ve ever had bridesMEN.  Yes bridesmen. You read that correctly.  Some of Eleni’s closest friends just happened to be of the male type so why not throw them in on her side of the party?  I say all the more power to her.  It ended up being lots of fun and those three sweet friends she had as her bridesmaids ended up housing so much gorgeousness that too many more probably would have been overpowering. Therefore, the men were a nice way to balance out all that beauty :).  This also was the first traditional Filipino wedding I’ve shot and I thoroughly appreciated all the sentiments behind it.  As much as I enjoyed learning about their traditions such as the veil, cord, and coins though; my favorite part had to be the lantern boys and the precious fairy girls that stole the show walking down the aisle!
