It’s not every day you get to walk along side your best friend’s pregnancy! Well, at least when you are a military wife, it’s not. In the last few years I have had many friends walk through the blessing of childbirth, (some even three times over now!) and yet this is only the second friend I will be able to say that I have been physically in the same place as from conception all the way through delivery (Lord willing!). And I count it as more of a blessing than I can even begin to describe to you. It’s definitely a weird feeling to witness all of my friend’s precious journeys of beginning a family through social media. I am so thankful for social media so that I at least can “walk along side” via photos and videos, but as we all know, it’s just not the same. Many of my friends I’ve missed the whole process of and have still yet to see the sweet babies probably turned toddlers before I get to meet them in person. But that is what makes times like these so truly precious. Dan and Bre are our closest friends and being able to physically be here with them during this time has been nothing short of wonderful. We have relished each moment from the time James and I stepped into their house for dinner to see a pink and blue balloon tied to our chairs, to a gorgeous evening spent at Chamber’s Bay capturing their sweet excitement to soon meet their little girl. And we are so excited to meet baby Baker and hold her in our arms soon! What a fun holiday season it will be to not only have all the good food but all the baby snuggles!
We love you already, baby girl!
